It’s been two years since the day that you called me and told me that you didn’t love me anymore and that you hadn’t for a long time. Two years since you told me you had cheated. Two years since our 3 year relationship came to a sudden halt.
Two years later, and I’m invited to your wedding.
This letter is not to say I’m hung up on you. It’s not to say that I still have romantic feelings for you. I have loved and lost since we were together. I have moved forward, and you have too. What I want to say here is thank you. You came into my life in a time whenI was broken, when I was insecure and hiding it and you saw me. You saw through my fake smile and genuinely cared for me. You pushed me to see the worth that you saw in me. You saved me from myself and for that I am forever grateful.
This is also to say that I wish you the very best. I am so happy for you and your fiance. I’m happy that you’ve found someone to spend the rest of your life with and I really do hope that it works out for you guys and that you’ll have a long happy marriage. Please don’t forget to cherish your wife each and every day, to show her how much you love her and to show her how much she is worth. You’re good at that.
Thank you again. You’ll always have a place in my heart, and I’m glad that I got to know you when I did.
