Dear ex,
It’s 2 o’clock in the morning as I’m writing you this letter. Maybe you’re still up strumming your guitar and learning new lyrics to songs you’ve head on the radio. Maybe you’re tossing and turning in bed, trying to make it through another long night. Whatever you are doing, I hope you find this letter and read it at least once.
When I come across letters to other people’s exes saying how they wish their ex knew they were sorry and if they could take back their mistakes they would, I think of you. And I secretly I wished that you’d be among those few who were apologizing behind the screen. I’m not mad at you. I’m sad how things turned out for us.
You came into my life like a dream. I tried my best to hold onto you because you were everything to me at one point. I’m glad I stopped chasing that dream. Everything worked out at the end.
