This year has been tough. The last couple months have almost sent me over the edge. I decided to end our 15-year relationship. We have 2 beautiful girls aged 11 and 12.

After spending five years on the couch cooking cleaning and taking care of family chores, I decided paying her 60% of my wage every week was enuff. On top of that she was having an affair on the side. She asked me to move out which I did with time frame given. She still wants me to assist babysitting while she travels on her high corporate job. I still pick my daughters up every day to and from school, make them dinner, do home work with them and just hang til she gets home.

Recently 2 weeks ago my grandmother passed away which devastated me as I am the oldest grand child. I took my 2 daughters back with me to experience the funeral on a marae. They took it all in and I’m so proud of them for doing so. On my return my ex decided to send the girls away for 3 weeks changing the original flights she had booked.

I then had a fall out with one of my few friends of 10 years over the girls staying one night a week. After 15 years, moving out with 1 suitcase and 3 cardboard boxes. I’m gutted.

I asked my partner for 15% of property as I thought it would be fair 1% for each year. I was told to go forth get a solictor. After spending what money I had left on flights to NZ, solicitors and living I have moved back to work to start my life again.

I don’t wish this on anyone. I know things can only get better and if it wasn’t for my beautiful girls I think I would have lost it. Things can only get better I’m always the optimistic.
