Before I go any further, I wanted to clarify the fact that I’m doing perfectly well without you and my feelings for you are no longer there. I am happily in love and I am getting married soon!! Yay!
But I also wanted to thank you. Thank you for making me feel extremely miserable and insecure throughout our relationship. Especially when it came to a certain girl you told me a million times you had zero feelings for (now you’re with her… surprise). When you left for basic training, I was a wreck. I was going to wait for you until one of your “best friends” told me that you were cheating on me with your current girlfriend and showed me proof. That’s the reason why I had to leave you, but I didn’t want to tell you through letter because you were already stressed enough. This is something I’ve always wanted to tell you, but I never thought it would’ve been worth it… I thought you wouldn’t care. But there you go. So thank you!! I lost myself for a while there! Slept with random guys trying to look for the closure I never got. Well this letter to you is my closure and I’m so happy to finally get it. We had amazing memories together, but it’s all in the past now.
