An open letter to the man who hurt me,

You hurt me more than anyone else who ever came into my life because I cared more for you than anyone else.

Yet…

I must thank you.

Because of you, I have quit looking for true love. I now know that there is no such thing.

Because of you, I have quit looking for my one true friend. I now know that I am the best friend I will ever have.

Because of you, I have quit looking for the rock that would support me and be my strength. I now know that I am that rock. I am all the strength I will ever need.

Because of you, I have quit looking for the missing piece that would complete me. I now know that I am complete as I am.

You have made me self sufficient, strong and independent. For that, I thank you.
