Technically, the egg hunt should be happening TODAY (Sunday in Australia), but we did it yesterday because a) it was the only day we could coral the entire family + kids to be in the one place and b) as a family we tend to have very little respect for tradition. Whatever. As long as there is an egg hunt AT SOME POINT over Easter weekend, I don’t get my knickers in a twist over the details.
I will say though that I pretty much ate my weight in Turkish delight eggs, Mars Bar eggs and a number of white chocolate treats that put me into a sugar coma for around 12 hours. AND I was forced to police my 2-year-old’s chocolate intake at the same time, and let me just say it is near impossible to tell a 2-year-old to STOP eating chocolate when you are – whoopsy – busy stuffing your face with chocolate in front of him.
This morning I found the little rascal with his Easter basket and a chubby hand under the couch, fishing out all the forgotten mini eggs from the hunt that no one had found. The kid has got some serious detective skills.
Anyhow, I hope that wherever you all are, and whoever you’re with, you’re doing Easter with some quality chocolate by your side.
Mwah,
Rachel
